Eleven Members of CCC visited Welney yesterday - the morning was misty with lots of opportunities for atmospheric shots of swans (to follow). In the afternoon, the sun broke through and gave us good views from the Lyle Hide of Redshank, Teal, Wigeon, Stonechat, Lapwing, Pied Wagtail and Snipe, all attempting to find food among the ice.

Snowdrop Display at Anglesey Abbey (Cambridgeshire)
The snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey are certainly behind last year but probably more 'normal' with some out in the sheltered spots but still to open in the exposed areas. Lovely misty conditions yesterday gave colourings that display the gardens so well for me. More details of the snowdrop festival at this link for Anglesey Abbey

Frosty Morning in Toft Wood
A few images from a frosty morning last week in our wood. I have left the colour balance as shot with the range of warm colours in the sunlight to cold colours in the shade.

Welney Wildfowl Trust; Pochard with ?Moon and Icy Landings
We visited Welney last week on a chilly but bright sunny morning though the horizons were misty with more delicate colours. Don't remember a moon but not sure what else produced the effect! The Ouse Washes were fairly flooded and some of it frozen which gave some great landings (most missed in the camera!)
