Projects at RSPB Bempton

A second visit to Bempton cliffs yesterday and I decided to concentrate on a couple of projects. First, trying to show the sea birds among the cliff flowers that form their home during the breeding season. Red Campion, Hogweed, Sea Matweed and Plantain are the predominant flowers. My second project was to try ways of showing the movement of the vast numbers of sea birds in and out of the cliffs. Here time-lapse flight trails show the numbers of birds going in and out of the cliffs.

Welcome(?) to Bridlington

Grey skies, intermittent rain and not too welcoming signs met us on our evening stroll but there are some charming steps and alleyways even on the funfair front. Hopefully the rain may hold off for some of the time though the weather forecast  looks pretty grim!

Potteric Car Nature Reserve

This Crow was having a great time throwing leaves up into the air, presumably hunting food among the leaves, and watched by a Robin. Great to see Roe Deer close as most birds/animals were at a distance. Other cameos to give the feel of the area.

Birds from Hull and Hornsea

Although not a birdwatching trip, we did see a lot of birds during our visit to Hull area. The Hull and Humber banks had large numbers of waders and gulls at low tide and these cute Sanderling along with dozens of Turnstone were everywhere at Bridlington and Hornsea and were comparatively tame.

Modern Architecture in Hull 2

A second set of architectural studies, this time taken on our last day in Hull with very poor light featuring Hull College, the History Centre, which is part of the University and various other buildings. Unfortunately, we didn't get time to visit the University - another visit to Hull needed for that.
