Toft Full-Spectrum Images from Misty Frosty Day

Taken on 30th November - one of the very cold misty mornings with the Full-Spectrum camera. Mostly very muted colours but, in the denser part of the wood, the autumn colours recorded well saturated presumably as infrared was somewhat filtered out by the canopy. Ted was a bit bewildered by the very cold conditions and is about to zoom off round in circles,

Full Spectrum Photography - Autumn Rain

I took my full spectrum Lumix camera for a walk in the rain and concentrated on flowers, berries and leaves. Rather too slow shutterspeeds as light was very poor but I like the colour palettes. There is some channel swapping of background colours in Lightroom but often as taken.

Winter in Hardwick Wood: Frosted Leaf Fungi

Images from a second visit to the wood this time focus bracketing (21-31 shots) the minute fungi on the woodland floor. The sunlight with the frosted caps and the lit autumn leaves was magical. I have stacked them quickly in Zerene stacker but need to return and try other modes and also in Photoshop as I am getting a halo on some toadstools. The sunlight with the frosted caps and the lit autumn leaves was magical.

Winter in Hardwick Wood Project

Last year, I took a lot of photos of lichens, mosses and fungi during the winter months and I hope to extend this project over the upcoming months. I was amazed by the abundance of fungi of all types in the wood yesterday from several types of Mycena to Club fungi, slime moulds, jelly fungi, ink caps etc. Here a few quick shots - I must go back soon with a good tripod and lighting to do them justice.

Autumn at the Botanic Gardens

Beautiful warm sunshine for our CCC visit to the Cambridge Botanic gardens. Not the best autumn for colours but there were some beautiful vivid areas of orange and yellow.
