Second Visit to the Red Squirrels Isle of Wight

We made a second visit to the Red Squirrel location that we enjoyed so much on our first day and were rewarded with beautiful light and equally beautiful subjects to photograph. My favourite image is with the light through the background trees

Ventnor to Bonchurch, Isle of Wight

On Saturday morning we walked along the coast from Ventnor to Bonchurch in beautiful sunshine but with very strong winds. As well as photographing the spray, I played with multiple exposure to give the impression of the overriding presence of the rough seas.

Black-Headed Gulls Miscellany

We didn't visit any bird reserves etc while we were on the Isle of Wight as Sarah didn't bring a long lens but there were plenty of Black-headed Gulls to practise on in all kinds of light and weather conditions!

Early Morning Colwell Bay

There was an impressive mackeral sky early Friday morning forerunning the later gales. I tried some panoramas including a 19-image 360 degree one to try and give a feel of the dominance of that sky. I also converted this in Photoshop to a Tiny Planet

Storm on Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight

Friday was very windy with gusts up to 50mph and near horizontal rain - not pleasant for being out but well worth time spent in a shelter on Freshwater Bay photographing the spray and waves. These were taken with shutterspeeds  from1/3200th to 1/8th second, all handheld, some with deliberate camera movement added.
