Cambridge to Macclesfield Train stops

The scheduled trains were cancelled on my journey to Macclesfield so with replacement services I ended up with a bit longer in London and Stafford than I expected so I did a bit of architectural photography as I am putting a talk together for a future date.

CCC King's Cross Outing 1. The Tunnel

Always a great location for images, many of us started our photography in the underground tunnel. I started playing with shutterspeeds to see the effect on the tunnel lighting. The faster shutterspeeds (above 1/200th) gave patterns in the wall as did slow speeds 1/60th (image 7). The smooth effects as in image 2 were shot at 1/125th - no doubt someone will add an explanation. Also here a couple of in-camera multiexposures

York Station and Railway Museum

Still sorting images from our long weekend in York. Particularly pleased with the wide-angle shots of the station in that for once people were more or less where I would have chosen to place them. The Railway Museum has so much to look at so only a flavour of the place with its multitude of carriages and engines. Again my favourites were the wide-angle shots this time looking up in the pit built under one of the engines.

Paddington Station

Three images from Paddington Station - that clock just asks to be photographed. I really need a person waiting underneath.
