Dovedale Floods and Clumber Park

Our route back from the Peak District was via Dovedale and Clumber Park (both National Trust). We wondered why the car park was quite empty when we arrived at Dovedale - the valley was flooded and it was not possible to get across the stepping stones or to easily walk along the other side of the river. However the colours reflected in the extensive water areas made up for it.
Clumber Park was very busy with people out enjoying the autumn trees.

Morning Mist in the Peak District

We set off from Buxton to drive to Dovedale wanting to get there early but got distracted by a very unusual sky, the frost on the grass and the mist in the valleys so a few shots here into the sun and away from it.

Castleton, Derbyshire - Shades of Green

I stopped in Castleton for a short while on my drive from Leeds area across to Chapel-en-Frith Camera Club on Wednesday. Mainly it was overcast but the sun broke through a few times to give great sculpturing to the views. Although not Ireland, there were certainly 40 shades of green.

Dovedale Before the Crowds

On Sunday, I visited Dovedale in the South Peak District early in the morning in bright sunshine. Beautiful light with golds and blues predominating. By 11am,  the car park was full and I left the crowds to fight out position on the stepping stones.
