Our second venue for night photography in Cambridge on Sunday was the Polar Fair - very busy generally but found a few quieter spots to record the kaleidoscope of colours and shapes. Last couple moving the camera during Live Composite mode (ie camera is taking 1sec exposure continuously - I don't think it records how many shots)

Paris - Skating, Sunset and Champs Elysee
I tried various lenses to capture the skating rink in front of the Hotel de Ville. The 24mm gave an undistorted but narrow view of the rink so I preferred the fisheye even with the distortion. I also did some slower shutterspeed panning with a longer lens and tried the sweep facility on the Fuji, which gave a very strange result if I didn't keep it horizontal during the movement. Another beautiful sunset - golden rather than red and then twilight on the Champs Elysee. Witnessing all the crowds around, we decided to give the midnight celebration a miss!

Gorky Park Moscow
Two of the dozens of snowmen in Gorky Park - they run snow machines to create enough snow when nature doesn't oblige. They also have the strange habit of putting leg warmers on their lamp standards and tree trunks. But, of course, what I enjoyed most was the huge ice skating rink and trails. I took a great many shots so expect to see one or two more when I can sort them on a larger screen.
