Polar Fair in Cambridge

Our second venue for night photography in Cambridge on Sunday was the Polar Fair - very busy generally but found a few quieter spots to record the kaleidoscope of colours and shapes. Last couple moving the camera during Live Composite mode (ie camera is taking 1sec exposure continuously - I don't think it records how many shots)

Architectural Colours and Reflections

I am working on a talk on architectural photography so an opportunity in my free time in Bristol to gather a few more images featuring the older coloured house in Bristol and their modern concrete versions, reflections and general abstracts.

Light Painting

Some images taken at last night's CCC Wednesday Workshop meeting. The rotating bicycle wheel and the 'Christman Tree' worked particularly well as did the lit silhouettes of Charles and Barry.

CCC King's Cross Outing 1. The Tunnel

Always a great location for images, many of us started our photography in the underground tunnel. I started playing with shutterspeeds to see the effect on the tunnel lighting. The faster shutterspeeds (above 1/200th) gave patterns in the wall as did slow speeds 1/60th (image 7). The smooth effects as in image 2 were shot at 1/125th - no doubt someone will add an explanation. Also here a couple of in-camera multiexposures

Shapes and Patterns at the Botanic Gardens

I was photographing the shapes of single leaves and the patterns of their rosettes of leaves and their symmetry when I came to this ?Aloe. The new leaves develop in a spiral pattern but with a 5 point shape in the centre.
