Rainy Cambridge

Cambridge was the answer to a recent query 'in which City centre in England can you see cows grazing?' Add to this hay bales and it is a good description of Cambridge at the moment. Saturday was very wet and I felt the need for a bit of umbrella therapy. Although a lot less busy than a sunny day punting was continuing even if it meant looking like ghosts in their plastic wraps. It was Cambridge's Out of the Ordinary Festival which should have meant the streets etc were full of performers. Many were moved inside but this quartet continued around the City to the obvious amusement of shoppers.

Drought ...What Drought?

I know that we would need much more rain to refill reservoirs but it was not really the best timing to receive this leaflet this morning after almost 48 hours continuous heavy rain.

Gorky Park Moscow

Two of the dozens of snowmen in Gorky Park - they run snow machines to create enough snow when nature doesn't oblige. They also have the strange habit of putting leg warmers on their lamp standards and tree trunks. But, of course, what I enjoyed most was the huge ice skating rink and trails. I took a great many shots so expect to see one or two more when I can sort them on a larger screen.

A few more images from yesterday. First some more of those terracotta and yellow walls specially for Tricia - haven't had the falling snow yet but still hoping. The second is a panorama of the Bolshoi Ballet Theatre.
I spent the afternoon on Sparrow Hill doing my favourite thing - people watching. I don't have any efficient manipulation software so there is a bit of work to do on the lamp posts etc.
The final image is for my doggy friends - human and other - I am afraid that I can't translate so have no idea how to potty train a dog.

Wuthering Heights

One of the colour infrared images taken at the CCC portrait shoot at Madingley Hall on Sunday.
It made me think of Kathy haunting Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights - too many late nights this week I think.

Chaos

I thought friends would appreciate this accidental shot taken in the chaos of my studio as I prepare for Open Studios on July 11-26th.

Loo in a Barn

Came across this very spacious loo in Devon.

It felt quite daunting to have so much space around - it is normally 'the smallest room' in house descriptions.

Goodbye

Unfortunately my holiday in Devon only lasted a couple of days as I had to return when my mother was taken into hospital. As I left our cottage, the cows obviously wished to say goodbye. I particularly like the elegant legs on the second image.

Head adornments

Having been the photographer for several weddings lately, I was immediately drawn to this Crested Pigeon's amazing head gear - would put many a wedding hat into the shade.

If you can't beat 'em.............

Decided that as it appears that everyone at weddings now has a camera, I would make a feature of one in a wedding image

Matching Colours

Another image from my West Country trip. Image is cropped but otherwise straight from camera - loved the way the clothing matched the beach hut doors.

Two Images from Wet Sunday

Two images from the wet Sunday of

our camera club weekend in Wells-next-the-Sea.

Any ideas why Hunstanton has these perfectly rounded boulders all covered in green seaweed? Not enough light to make a good image but still took my eye.
This image says it all about Hunstanton on a wet day
