Early Morning Light

Yesterday morning was a very clear sunrise giving bright direct light to the landscape so more experiments with the Full Spectrum camera either with a 950nm filter as images 1,3,4 and 8 or using without. With the direct lighting early in the walk, the results were striking when converted to monochrome but generally the complete spectrum images gives a lot more scope when converting to monochrome or using as colour images.

Full-spectrum Infrared

I had been reading up about how the visible light spectrum varies in animals and was delighted to find a secondhand Full-spectrum IR conversion camera for sale that was within my budget and takes my macro lens. Here are a few images taken mostly with no filters (two used a yellow filter) and no extra processing outside Lightroom, except the last one which has been channel-swapped in Photoshop.

Favourite Walk Toft to Hardwick Wood and Caldecote Church

Some images from my favourite local walk - one I do at least once a week from Toft towards Hardwick then down to the Brook, up to Frog Hall, along to Hardwick wood, round to Caldecote Church and back to Toft. It changes so dramatically through the seasons (see Ann Miles Blog: Favourite Local Walk (pin-sharp.blogspot.com) for a September view)

Sunflowers in Morning Mist

My daily morning walk in our Cambridgeshire village covers about a mile of very varied 'views' and is rarely the same from day to day. Sunday's walk was in thick mist so the colours in the fallow field with its sunflowers, and the hedgerow leaves, fruits and dry grasses  made great subjects against the muted backgrounds.

Soft Misty Dawn

As there was an autumnal feel to the dawn yesterday with a soft mist, I visited our local sunflower field This year, it is quite sparse allowing isolation of the individual heads against a soft background. The sunrise itself never quite happened and it then started raining but not before I had played a bit with compositions trying to decide how many trees to include!!
