As part of our Documenting Cambridge project ( Public Home Page), I spent a couple of hours at the 'Painted Church' in Cambridge yesterday morning lit by beautiful autumn sunlight. I only had a compact single focal length camera with me so these are planning shots for a later in depth visit. All Saints' was built by the architect George Frederick Bodley between 1863 and 1870 and is a notable example of English Gothic Revival style, both for its exceptional hand painted walls and for the spectacular stained glass. The wall and ceiling decorations were applied by F. R. Leach & Sons and form complex, bold stencilled patterns throughout the church. The east window was designed by Edward Burne-Jones.

Early Morning Sharpenhoe
I was interested in the effect of shade, cloud and direct sunlight on the colours and appeal of images. Clouds covered the sun when we arrived at Sharpenhoe yesterday morning but these cleared as the sun came above the ridge. All single shots except image 10 which is a focus stack of 10 images.

CCC London Trip: Thames Night Walk
A selection of images from our night walk along the Thames on Sunday evening. The first image is a panorama of two long exposures to show the span of the Millenium Bridge (this should come after image 9 in temporal sequence but is the right aspect ratio to share on Facebook). They are a mixture of long exposures (up to 15sec) on the FujiX100V and live composites from the Olympus EM1-II with base exposure of 30sec and variable number of added exposures (need more experimentation with exposure values and number of shots!!)
