Anglesey Abbey January 26th

We visited Anglesey Abbey last Friday on a beautiful 'spring' sunny morning to admire the spring flowers already well into bloom. Not the easiest flower photography conditions for white and yellow flowers! I experimented photographing high key into the light  - needed a bit more care with focal points and depth of field but like the overall impression of delicate flowers and spring sunshine. Even a few early bees around foraging on the daffodils

Rainy Shopping in the Hull

The wet conditions on Friday gave some great photographic opportunities with the lights from the shops etc  reflecting on pavements and the umbrellas.

Walk King's Cross to Pall Mall

On Sunday, I walked from Kings Cross Station to Pall Mall enjoying the diversity that is London, here represented by shots from Manette Street in Soho. It has such a variety of building - new and old,  underconstruction and ready for demolition, open and locked and colourful and monochromatic. the Chapel of St Barnabus in Soho is firmly padlocked but a sprig of flowers has escaped. With all this in one street, it is a wonder I made my destination in time to photograph an event.

Stormy Skies at Hengistbury Head

I am spending a few days in Dorset and, having travelled through snowstorms yesterday afteroon, decided a visit to Hengistbury Head might would give a good view of the sunset. In fact, the sun sets a bit too far over the land for good sky reflections but great views across to Bournmouth one way and to Isle of Wight the other.

Lakenheath 2: Reed Buntings

With the recent rains, the water levels at Lakenheath are high enough to flood the feeding station giving great opportunity for reflection images. I also tried to capture some of the Reed Buntings in flight.
