We visited Anglesey Abbey last Friday on a beautiful 'spring' sunny morning to admire the spring flowers already well into bloom. Not the easiest flower photography conditions for white and yellow flowers! I experimented photographing high key into the light - needed a bit more care with focal points and depth of field but like the overall impression of delicate flowers and spring sunshine. Even a few early bees around foraging on the daffodils

Spring Arrives at Anglesey Abbey
The Snowdrops are at their peak at Anglesey Abbey along with Aconites, Spring cyclamen and Witch Hazel, all looking great in the sunshine. Second photo shows how close the side angle attachment allows me to get with my X100V compact.

Snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey (National Trust)
The snowdrops are well out at Anglesey Abbey, which opens at 9.30am at the moment to encourage people to come early. We took advantage of this and had a peaceful walk around the grounds admiring the snowdrops and other spring flowers.

Anglesey Abbey; Dahlias and Cyclamen at Their Best
It had been raining overnight so the dahlias were all covered in water droplets making an irresistable photographic subject. This year's cyclamen are better than ever and some interesting bark patterns showed up in the wet conditions.

Anglesey Abbey, Cambridgeshire - Misty Trees etc
We have had some very grey days in Cambridgeshire in the last week or so and Friday was no different with shallow fog giving very soft light conditions.
