Concrete (Appreciation) Society

Some time ago I became aware of the Concrete Society and how people can become interested in the graphic possibilities and power of concrete constructions. Here, for fellow addicts,  some images of  concrete slabs abandoned  outside a large warehouse at Glasson dock.

Glasson Dock, Lancashire

On Thursday, we visited Glasson Dock on a beautiful sunny spring morning, a lovely area for a few shots of barges, derelict craft (especially like the washing line and pegs), the working Dock and the small church.

Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve

Some images from our visit on Wednesday on a day that started rather dull and rainy but cleared to a beautiful afternoon. a few of the species seen - Shoveller, Egret, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwits, Pheasants, Redshank. Peregrine at Warton Crags, Lancashire

After a morning at Leighton Moss as part of Gerry's birthday celebrations, we visited Warton Crags and were treated to good views of a Peregrine on the cliffs and a pair in the air - all at quite a distance. The site is shared by a large number of Jackdaws who came tumbling out of the trees and then did impressive formation flying. A pair of Ravens also passed through.

More from the North West

Still working through images from trip to Lancashire - now safely returned through the snow. A couple from Crosby beach and the Anthony Gormley figures. Not sure what the lady was photographing!
The other images are from New Brighton as I travelled onto the Wirral to talk at Hoylake Photographic Society.
