Magpie Day

We had a tour round ST. James Stadium and guess what - everything is black and white.

Ampthill Rainbow

I stopped to admire a wonderful rainbow on the way to lecture at Ampthill Camera Club last night. The football match continued on a dandelion-covered pitch under leaden skies. The young man in red scored twice from this spot outside the box while I was watching.

I had some fun in the adjacent poplar wood moving the camera to distort the shapes. The flag of Finland arrived in one of the images

We decided to visit the east side of the city today and ended up at a friendly match between Celtic and Blackburn. It is a very impressive stadium seating 60,000 when full but it was less then half full for this preseason match. There were lots of cute kids - especially young girls - all dressed up in green and white. I felt quite nostalgic for my days as Cambridge United Photographer and actually the football wasn't much better.

Cambridge United Friendly

Image from inside the main stand during a friendly between Cambridge United and reserve team from Liverpool FC.
Liverpool won 1:0 from a free kick so Cambridge gave them a good run for their money. Having 'retired' from touchline photography, it felt odd to be watching from up in the stand.
