Marathon Charities

As usual, there were lots of runners supporting various charities - the largest contingent was from Alzheimer's Research UK. The ladies with the toilets were raising money to replace outdated school facilities in Newport. Not sure about the Chicken or the Glitterball.

Cambridge Marathon Main Runners

15,000 people took part in the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday in very overcast conditions. Here a few shots of the leading group (Nick, 2nd here, was the final winner) and then as the runners come up the Barton Road from Cambridge - a real stream of humanity.

Half Marathon Continued

I took some wide angle shots at the half marathon, some panned at 1/125th sec to give an idea of movement. The wide view is taken at the bottom of the 'hill' while the cheerful faces are at the top of the hill where a great team of supporters were encouraging the runners to get to the top.

Cambridge Half Marathon - The Lighter Side

Despite the pretty chilly conditions, it was obvious that a lot of the runners were greatly enjoying their run - at least at the half-way point. I thought the Anglia Ruskin University mascot was a bear but apparently it is a rhino.
