Launde Walled Garden

The walled garden at Launde is very extensive with several borders of perennials as well as the Vegetables and Fruit trees. I got immersed in photographing the flowers covered in dew with the misty backgrounds and almost missed breakfast on Saturday.

Previsit for Deer at Bradgate

I spent the afternoon at Bradgate Park (Linford Newton area) on Sunday doing a recce for Monday's RPS outing. There was quite a lot of bellowing going on in the wooded area while other stags were either wandering around or resting after a busy morning!. The mist hung around all afternoon giving very understated images in terms of colour and details very much the feel of the place and time.

Misty Morning at Launde Abbey

The old walled garden and woods at Launde Abbey looked great in this morning's very misty conditions

Trinity Buoy Wharf

We finally reached our second stopping point, Trinity Buoy Wharf, which gave some timeless shots of the Thames (without the Uber boats fleet or the IFS Cloud Cable Car in the distance!). I last visited in July 2020 (blue skies!!) when they were building the tall blocks behind Orchard Place so a few comparison shots. The famous diner has gone along with the cranes.

Wimpole Fungi

Wimpole grounds were very 'damp' in the mist but thankfully not too muddy. Lots of fungi covered in dew, which gives interesting shots as in the first photo but makes ID difficult. I have managed to identify Calocera cornea, Small stagshorn (2), Helvella crispa, White Saddle (3), Auricularia mesenterica, Tripe Fungus (5,6), Auricularia auricula-judae, Jelly Ear (8), Annulohypoxylon thouarsianum King Alfred's Cakes - young stage (9) and Nostoc comune a Cyanobacterium (10)
