Six CCC Members decided to go to the Sand Racing on Mablethorpe Beach on Sunday. It was a bright sunny day so plenty of light to play with. The challenge was to get good combinations of bikes, light in the eyes and a sense of movement. Individually achievable but getting all three eluded me in most shots. Here a few 'classic' shots that I liked (more 'pictorial' shots to follow)

Supermoon Views at Mablethorpe
When I realised we would be at the seaside for the Supermoon on November 13/14th, I wondered what I could get in the foreground to give an idea of scale. Difficult as nothing is far enough away to get in focus with the moon but here some attempts as the moon rose on November 13th evening, changing from red to white as it rose higher.
Monday was cloudy but I managed to catch the moon setting on Tuesday morning and again looked for things to give scale. Using 560mm lens equivalent allowed an idea of the size of this supermoon - the largest and brightest since 1948 apparently.

Mablethorpe: Beach Huts and Starfish at Sunrise
Mablethorpe is replacing some of its older beach huts with new ones - available to buy for £12000. I had fun photographing along the promenade as the sun came up and also on the beach where large numbers of starfish and razor shells had been washed up.

Mablethorpe Evening
It was still raining in Lincolnshore when we arrived yesterday and went out to find a meal in Mablethorpe. Made for great reflection images but made keeping the lens dry difficult so some introduced artifacts in the later photos.

Bourn School Welcomes its New Piano - A Grand Effort
Bourn Primary Academy have raised £10,000 in 6 months to replace their loved but aging grand piano with a beautiful new shiny piano now called Nancy after the lady who donated the old piano to the school 60 years ago. CambridgePianoforte Company could not have been more helpful and generous in taking away the old piano and delivering it to its new home Manor Farm enterprises in Bourn. Images here of the old piano being taken away and the new one installed and played for the very first time in front of the school (my grandaughter like all the rest of the school was captivated by its shininess as Mrs Armitage, the Music Teacher unveils it and Mrs Verwoerd, Music Assistant, plays the new piano).

Blackpool 6. The End of the Day
Final images from our day in Blackpool. I last visited in 2010 and have very few images from that visit as that was the year that I lost all my images due to a lightning strike on the house and backup disk failure. I do remember they were very busy rebuilding the promenade and that the starlings that time roosted on the Big Wheel but it was December so the Fair was not operating.
