I spent two 'evenings' in the City as the light faded. The first two shots are of Nevskiy Avenue showing the Christmas lights and the Kazan Cathedral.
The Church of Saviour on the Blood reflects in the Griboyedova Canal.
The next evening I concentrated on the view up the Bolshaya Neva, of the embankment buildings on Vasilyevskiy Island and of Dvortsovyy Bridge.

I continue to so enjoy your images Ann. They are bringing back such happy memories for me. I always remember before going to St Petersburg someone saying to me that the city was like looking at miles and miles of Versailles with a good touch of Amsterdam thrown in for good measure and I'm sure that you too will see what they meant? When do you come home?
Back tomorrow if I don't defect! Wonderful cities - wish that I had not had to rush the photography but that is the downside of coming with a group. Tomorrow promises snow so fingers crossed for a morning around the city in the snow. Today at Catherine's Palace was beautiful in the frost and light snow covering.
