Lichen Project

A rainy day yesterday so I thought I would continue with my lichen ID and UV fluorescence project. I had collected quite a few specimens and set about taking and photostacking images. Unfortunately my UV torch requires a new battery (not one I have a spare) but here are the ones I did manage. Now to identify them!!

Spring at Chippenham Park

The display of snowdrops at Chippenham Park (Cambridgeshire) is spectacular this year together with many other spring species though the Aconites are less abundant than earlier years and are just about over.

Wide-Angle View of Ely

We had a CCC meet up in Ely plus the added bonus of a Photohunt set by Barry and Sue. I used mostly a wide-angle attachment for my Fuji compact which focuses close though it does then distort at the edges. Here a selection of images - all single exposures except the very last image with is a multiexposure.

Chippenham Park in Infrared

We visited Chippenham Park, mostly for the wonderful snowdrop displays this year, but, following a talk on retaining colour in infrared images, I decided to give my infrared converted Canon 1D-II an outing. Working at f1.8 to prevent a hot spot means depth of field is difficult. The third image is colour (and exposure)-reversed in Lightroom giving quite an eerie night-time feel to the image

Madingley Snowdrops

The snowdrops are at their best at the moment, especially, as here, early on a sunny morning. Taken at f1.8 with a Canon macro lens attached Fuji mirrorless giving very shallow depth of field and interesting highlights
