Paxton Pits - Nghtingale Heard Not Seen

Definite signs of spring at Paxton yesterday with Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps singing everywhere and lots of insects waking up. Short burst of Nightingale song in the undergrowth near the Moorings. Even a family of geese already on the water. Insect ID to follow!

Pasque Flowers on Royston Heath

The Pasque flowers are going over now but it is a wonderful display - probably as good as the display in 2013 (see here). Taken with a range of lenses 100-400 mm for the first two and last four, third is the 10-24 mm and other two with 50 mm macro.

First Round Jetski Championships at Wyboston Lakes

Very enjoyable day yesterday photographing jetski racing. Great atmosphere with everyone very welcoming. I took a lot too many photographs so these are just a few quickly picked from the masses (most of which are out of focus where the focus has picked up the spray or blurred where panning not correct speed). Here 1/250th and 1/2000 used to give different effects.

Castleton, Derbyshire - Shades of Green

I stopped in Castleton for a short while on my drive from Leeds area across to Chapel-en-Frith Camera Club on Wednesday. Mainly it was overcast but the sun broke through a few times to give great sculpturing to the views. Although not Ireland, there were certainly 40 shades of green.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

I stopped off for lunch at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Tuesday and enjoyed a session with Scultpures by Barabara Hepworth and Tony Cragg. Quite a few are in-camera double exposures but also attracted by the reflections of the park in the sculptures. Unfortunately on a cloudy day there weren't many people viewing the sculptures
