Winter Lights at Canary Wharf

The main reason for the trip up to London on the 18th was to visit the Winter Lights at Canary Wharf. As usual, there was not enough time to photograph all the installations while there was still light in the sky and surroundings. It needs several planned visits but here are the ones that I liked. Most are taken at Crossrail Place, where there is a large indoor section of intriguing but, in many cases, incomprehensible exhibits!! We did like the one that scanned you, showed it on the screen for a short while and then fell away to dust!!

River Lee Walk

A few images from a walk along the River Lee. There is a lot of building of Desirable Apartments going on all along the River. I wonder how long the graffitti'ed buildings will remain

Olympic Park in Winter Light and Velodrome

Took the coach up to Stratford intending to walk through Olympic Park and along the River Lea and Limehouse Cut to visit the Winter Lights display at Canary Wharf. The light was so attractive in the Park that we spent some time on the buildings and then found a fair amount of activity in the Velodrome so in the end did the River Lea Section (to follow) and then caught the DLR to be in time for dusk at the Lights (to follow). Interested to see the Olympic Stadium now decked in West Ham colours and Regalia.

Street Life Cambridge

The light was still beautiful when we got parked and into Cambridge yesterday with misty backgrounds and then low winter sunlight. There were more people living on the streets than I have seen previously, mainly ignored by passers-by even by the folk canvassing for Oxfam donations.
