Huddersfield
Some gritty images from Huddersfield on a wet Monday. The modern architecture of the new University buildings contrast with the old mills and factories. How will they look in 150 years time.

Kings College Cambridge
Images taken with the 24mm Shift lens showing the quality of image possible with this lens. It is a difficult lens to use off a tripod as it is manual focus and exposure.

Down in the woods
I went for a short walk in Eversden woods today with the Tilt and Shift lens looking for Fungi but only found one Inkcap. However, there were some strange 'little people' climbing around the trees - all proved a bit much for our elderly Millie!

Mixed Bag from Strumpshaw Fen
A few more images from last week's trip to Strumpshaw Fen. There was a large flock of fieldfares and Redwing feeding on the berries and also 3 Waxwings, which we failed to locate. The Snipe and Gulls were more cooperative and the mammals came up trumps with good views of Chinese Water Deer, Otters and Rats

Strumpshaw Fen
The Kingfishers at Strumpshaw put on a great show today remaining in view for 90 mins. Quite a bit of preening took place and a few dives for fish. I failed to capture any of the action - they are just so fast in diving and returning to the perch.

Sunset at Strumpshaw
We called in at Strumpshaw just as the sun was setting. Great light but, unlike the Black Swan, the Kingfisher and Pheasants were a bit too far away.

Wicken Birds in the Rain
Beautiful and sunny when we left Cambridge and then very heavy showers arrived. The Moorhens did not seem to be too worried but the Kkingfisher and Jay stayed in the cover of the bushes.

Taken on athe G12 in Cambridge with John and Hilary; sorry the light was quite so absent for your visit.

Sunflowers in the Mist
The sunflowers in our village looked great in the mist this week - worth the very muddy walk to reach them.
