Although not abundant as in some years, there are fungi to be found at Paxton and some, like these Mycena form some very attractive clumps. I had my UV torch with me as interested in the different colours that the various species reflect when lit with this wavelength.

Launde Walled Garden
The walled garden at Launde is very extensive with several borders of perennials as well as the Vegetables and Fruit trees. I got immersed in photographing the flowers covered in dew with the misty backgrounds and almost missed breakfast on Saturday.

Bradgate Park
This young Jackdaw was about as happy as we were for our visit to Bradgate yesterday - overcast and damp with low light values. I am always surprised to see young fallow deer still suckling when mating is in full progress. There were lots of ritual displays evident from decorating the antlers to active fighting and the youngsters were also joining in though never in a good clear area! We spent a time along the stream and were pleased to record deer and squirrels drinking.

Previsit for Deer at Bradgate
I spent the afternoon at Bradgate Park (Linford Newton area) on Sunday doing a recce for Monday's RPS outing. There was quite a lot of bellowing going on in the wooded area while other stags were either wandering around or resting after a busy morning!. The mist hung around all afternoon giving very understated images in terms of colour and details very much the feel of the place and time.

Misty Afternoon at Bradgate Park
The mist hung around all day yesterday and added a soft quality to the light for photography. There are some wonderful old oak and Sweet Chestnut trees there and, as usual during this month, some very large parasol toadstools in all the grassy areas. The flowers, including delicate harebells, are enjoying a bit of moisture after a hot dry summer
