Bluebells and Yellow Fields

Waresley wood was very busy this morning for our CCC Wednesday Workshop outing and, once we got parked and in the woods, we could see why:- the Bluebells are extra good this year. Fewer Oxlips, wood anemones or orchids but the smell and sight of the Bluebells made up for this. The blue of the flowers is so dependent on the light conditions - cyan out of the sun and almost purple in the sun. Not so keen on the smell of the Rape which is turning lots of fields yellow.

Beetles in Crete

Continuing through the insects etc photographed in Crete in mid-April, here are some Beetles, including a pair of Tiger beetles, a difficult species to find and photograph in the UK but present in their hundreds on one of the stony hillsides that we visited.

CRUFC Win the League 59 points to 10

Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club needed to win and score at least 4 tries to come top of the League in the final match of the season. The game started very nervously with the opposition (Moseley)scoring first with a penalty but once CRUFC settled into the game the tries started appearing and the final score was 59-10 enough to win them the trophy and to have score 1002 points in the season. Certainly something to celebrate.
