Winter Visitors to Cambridgeshire

Not great images as light very poor on Sunday but great to see flocks of Fieldfare and Redwings and mixed Finches/Yellowhammers, presumably linked to the very large berry crop this year.

Remembrance Sunday

A few images from a very misty walk around my Cambridgeshire village, Toft, on a very misty Remembrance Sunday morning. I managed a very distant image of a Hare and was thrilled to see very large flocks of finches including lots of Yellow Hammers and Reed Buntings and even larger flocks of mixed Redwings and Fieldfare (next post!!).

Close-up at Botanical Gardens

I was using an  Olympus OM-System 50mm 1.8  legacy lens (lefthand images) on Saturday at the Gardens as I needed some images for a talk I am giving next week. I took most shots with a comparison image using my Fuji dedicated 50mm Zeiss Touit lens (righthand images). I always enjoy the soft pastel colours and backgrounds from the Olympus lens (both are used wide open).

Autumn at the Botanic Gardens

Beautiful warm sunshine for our CCC visit to the Cambridge Botanic gardens. Not the best autumn for colours but there were some beautiful vivid areas of orange and yellow.

Happisburgh Beach

During our time on Happisburgh beach, the skies changed from uniform grey to give some cloud structures, conveniently centred on the remains of the sea defences.  Played with shutterspeeds and water splashes - series are taken at 1/60th,1/8th and 1.5 seconds.
