Madingley War Cemetery 1. Into the Light

The thick mist that we had in Toft this morning had dispersed when I got to the American Cemetery. Most of the photographs were taken at F16  though the first one is f2 and is my favourite one from the set with the out of focus crosses and the dominant sun..

Bristol 2. Amphitheatre and Millennium Square

I finished my walk around Bristol at the Amphitheatre (built in 1993 as Lloyds Bank HQ) and the Millennium Square area with its fountains and mirrored sphere. Good to see all types of transport have been thought about when designing the roads and pavements.

Bristol Walk 1

I had a spare afternoon in Bristol and went for a walk around the city centre - last visited 2012 when it was pouring with rain! Very little has changed in terms of buildings but, like many cities, the area is very much dominated by tourist trade now with lots of eating places and tourist attractions. I was using a fixed 23mm lens (X100V) so some images are stitched panoramas (horizontally or vertically) while the last image is enlarged to test the quality of the original.

Arnos Vale Catholic Cemetery

I am in Bristol for the RPS Distinctions Assessments and took advantage of some late sunshine to visit the Catholic Cemetery. These are multiple exposures  - not all are quite what I wanted but I do like the first few.

Southampton (last holiday post!)

A bit out of sequence but felt I ought to record my first 'overseas' trip since February 2020 and also from a historical point of view - what will Southampton look like in the future if we stop importing oil. The Southampton oil refinery is the largest of six in the UK. It processes around 270,000 barrels a day. The docks are also a major industry plus Cruise liners and general boating activities
