Using Fuji X100V for Nature Images

About a month ago, I purchased a Fuji X100V fixed lens model as the camera to carry around in my pocket to replace another small camera that I no longer owned. In that time, I have been experimenting with using it for wildlife especially using narrow depth of field and for 'in environment' shots. Here is a selection, the first two taken at F2 through the vegetation and the others at F4 or 5. The hit rate is a bit low but certainly a useful addition without much bulk or weight.

Toft in Monochrome

After a day of cloud and rain, the skies cleared to give beautiful light yesterday evening for a walk on the top fields in our village.

Multiexposure Cambridge Buildings and People

I really like the multimages of New York and London by Daniella Zalcman and thought I would try multiexposures of cambridge on a recent visit. A lot of experimentation still needed but here are a few that I felt somewhat approached my vision of the final composite. 

Willow Tree Resurrection

Some images of a fallen willow tree and the growth of new braches from the horizontal trunk taken in Cambridge last week. The images were converted to monochrome and then split toned in an attempt to get a bit more depth to the images.

Fowlmere Composites

A walk round Fowlmere RSPB reserve was pretty devoid of visible birds as usual so I had a play with multiple exposures and different blending modes. Here a few that I liked from the session (the first is a Photoshop composite (overlay mode) but didn't record ME mode!).

Spiders, Kestrel and 100s Chalkhill Blue

While looking for that never-to-be-achieved perfect butterfly shot, we stumbled on a Wasp Spider site. This female at one time had 4 males in attendance but only 2 stayed by the time I set up for focus stacking (first and third image). There were plenty of other spiders around including one under a Knapweed flowerhead. I was entertained by a close Kestrel  male.
