Harwich and Dovercourt

We are in Dovercourt for the weekend helping run an RPS Walk today so a preliminary wander around Dovercourt and Harwich. Here are a selection of shots in bright clear light. Today we are forecast high winds and showers so it will be a very different experience, so watch this space. 

Royston Heath Dogs Galore

Yesterday morning was perfect light for photographing Ted, our Golden Retriever, and his various 'friends' on a walk on Royston Heath

Bluebells at Gamlingay Wood

We visited Gamlingay Wood on Friday afternoon (April 19th) and found the display of bluebells just about at its best. For the nature diary, recorded first Red Damselfly (seen in Toft garden on April 22nd) - very early as expected with current hot spell.

Marsh Harrier Hunting

A late afternoon display by the male Marsh Harrier at Fowlmere showing the effect of the light from different angles on the plumage. Good to see a Barn Owl (?pair) is using the owl box among the reeds. Not much else other than geese and crows!

 

Exploring Life in Euphobias

Euphobia flowers on their own make great close-up photographic subjects but add some colourful bugs and an hour or so passed without running out of different species. It was very windy so some like the Crab Spider are not sharp.
