Wicken Fen, Cambridgeshire

We did the circular walk from the Visitor Centre over to Burwell Fen and back. This Egret was busy catching dragonflies (mating pairs of Migrant Hawkers) but wasn't successful in finding a stategy to actually swallow them before they escaped. Other Hawkers in the area appeared to mob the Egret and perhaps distracted it. Rest of photos for the yearly comparison records.

Making the Best of a Wet Wedding

Always a shame when the sun refuses to come out as promised on a wedding day but Anna and Mark were remarkably calm and obliging and we managed a photo of their 120 guests in Trumpington Church and the umbrellas certainly added to the group photos. The Barn at Harlton is certainly a great space for a recption though too dark for much photography. I got married in Trumpington Church 50 years ago almost to the day and it rained!!!

Lee Valley White Water Centre

Five CCC members visited the White Water Centre at Lee Valley hoping for a day photographing canoeing and kayaking practice for the British Championships at the weekend. The slalom gates were all removed at noon when rafting sessions began but we enjoyed some good action in the morning.

Jesus College Cambridge Open Sculpture Exhibition Part 2

I returned to Jesus College to complete looking at the sculptures - some permanent and others part of the Open Sculpture Exhibition which finishes on Sunday. This time I used infrared to bring out the structures.

London Skylines September 2017

Last Saturday, we walked from Parliament Square along the Thames taking photos as the heavy clouds built up. A classic shot of St Pauls and the Millenium Bridge in dramatic lighting but then Skylines in order on our walk.
