Bored Kingfisher at Rye Meads RSPB Reserve

The male kingfisher visited the nesting bank twice during my visit and stayed for nearly half an hour looking very bored. Very distant shots but still lovely to observe and photograph. The Gadwall and Teal are clearly paired up and look very smart. Surprised to see a fresh crop oGlistening Inkcaps (Coprinellus micaceus) in a tree stump though they are one of the first toadstools to appear

Fen Drayton Sunset and Starling Murmuration

Friday was a beautiful clear day after storm doris passed through on Thursday. Visited Fen Drayton RSPB reserve hopefully to see the Short Eared Owls. Failed on that one but a beautiful sunset and starling flocks. Willow catkins at their best.

Fulmars at Skogafoss and the Bird Out-Takes

On a few occasions, I regretted not having a long enough lens with me to do justice to the birds in their surroundings. The Fulmars were spectacular as they flew across the front of the waterfall (taken in the rain!!). Lots of Snow Buntings enjoying scraps. My favourite image is the last one but unfortunately a grabbed shot and not quite fast enough shutterspeed to capture the Oystercatchers flock - maybe a soft print on soft paper might work?

Iceland as The Best Backdrop for Selfies and Portraits

For most tourists these days visiting the sites is mainly to act as a backdrop for their 'Selfie' or their antics.
