Plenty of scope for umbrella watching today in the heavy rain in Cambridge. All shapes, sizes and colours.

Slow Motion in Hunstanton

 The above picture taken last week at Hunstanton in the rain and a gale using slow shutterspeeds - starting with reference image at 1/200th then 1/6th, 1 second, 4 seconds and 5 seconds. The birds were 1/10th second. The tripod was not quite sturdy enough for the job but like the colours and the effects produced.

Apocalypse at Morrisons

 Staying in Reading for the RPS Contemporary Wider View Conference. We called in at Morrison's for supper and emerged to a wonderful colourful sunset.

Snetterton MG Racing Day

 Perfect weather at Snetterton not too hot or cold. 'Racing' a bit tame but good to see all the different MG and other make models on the track.

Bluewater Shopping Centre

I have a bit of a backlog of images to post so here are some from a recent trip to the Bluewater Shopping Centre when I was down south of the Thames talking at Bexleyheath Photographic Society. The images are part of a larger project on buildings and their construction materials.

Bassett Hounds

 This pack of Bassett hounds enjoyed the attentions of people especially children at the Gransden Show.  Bassets are scent hounds that were originally bred for the purpose of hunting rabbits and hare.

Sawfly Larvae in the Roses

Trying to get on top of the gardening backlog, I got distracted by these Sawfly larvae in the roses and spent a while with the 100mm macro. The blue in the background is El and Matt's now ex-car as they have exchanged it for a dark grey car - not sure how it will work as photographic prop.
