Lakenheath

Lakenheath car park was full up even at 10am when the reserve officially opens. This was due to the presence of a Red-footed Falcon and a Savi's Warbler. We didn't see either but spent an enjoyable day trying to catch on sensor the various reed dwellers - Whitethroat, Bearded Tit and Reed Warbler - and the acrobatic movements of the many Hobbies there.

Kingfishers Again

The Kingfishers are now very busy feeding chicks so lots of opportunities for pictures. They always wash straight after leaving the hole but guessing where they will dive is very difficult.

St Apolline's Chapel Guernsey

During our time in Guernsey we visited St Apolline's Chapel, a very small chapel with limited natural lighting and some veyr old wall paintings. This was a chance to shoot bracketed exposures for HDR. I now have HdrEffex Pro2, which has done an excellent job on the five-exposure sets (2 and 4 stops over and under exposed).

St Peter Port Guernsey

A few photos from my last day in Guernsey on Wednesday. A reminder of the traffic hazards and of Les Cotils Centre where we held our workshops. Otherwise images of a very photogenic town on a perfect blue-sky day. We returned to rain in England and it hasn't really stopped since!
Thanks to everyone who made it such an easy task to run the course and hope to see you again in the not-too-distant future.

Flowers in Guernsey

A few flower portraits from my very enjoyable visit to Guernsey.

Many thanks to my hosts Jan and David for making me so comfortable and to Carl and all the Guernsey photographers for making us so welcome. I will be back!

Some more photos to follow when time to process them more thoroughly

Herm Island

Perfect day to visit Herm with blue skies and light winds. A few shots to show the scenery and then some from a trip on the Bumblebee to view the Puffins in the evening. It was cloudy by then but this gave ideal conditions for some pictorial shots of these birds and Shags.
