Thurne Mill
Taken with Sony HDR and panorama modes. Images were downloaded onto tablet (Galaxy Note 10.1) adjusted in Photoshop Touch and uploaded to Blog - not quite right adjustment levels yet but interesting exercise as would be good not to travel with laptop.

Strumpshaw on a Windy Day
We spent a very windy day at Strumpshaw Fen so there were not a lot of birds to see. The Heron came obligingly near and the birds on the feeders in the woodland kept us happy for a while in the afternoon. It was good to photograph March Tit and Nuthatch along with more common species.

Christmas at Wimpole
Decided on a wintery walk at Wimpole Hall today and found that they had the Hall open and decked out for a Victorian Christmas. It is great now the National Trust have chosen to encourage rather than discourage photography.

Sony RX100
Following on from the very poor performance of my G12 in low/night light (not helped by a scratch on the lens), I decided to invest in a Sony RX100 as this has a large sensor and very good antishake. So here are a couple of nightshots (both I think used the in-built HDR), followed by a local landscape and a macroshot. The indoor shot was under very mixed lighting but has coped well (no correction). The final is its sweep panorama sitting in the car - the outside scene is fine but odd things have happened to the steering wheel and dashboard.

Very Wet Bristol
We had a couple of hours to look round Bristol in the wind and rain. Reflections were the order of the day. Images were taken with the Canon G12 so not great quality as it is poor at focusing in low light and the noise is considerable at ISO 800 and above. Not the ideal low-light and night photography camera!
