Teignmouth

I enjoyed a brief visit to Teignmouth this afternoon as it brought back memories of a holiday with my parents and my children back in 1974. It doesn't seem to have changed much. The last four images were taken later as I passed through on my way to talk to Dawlish Camera Club.

Dawlish

I decided to bring and use my infrared camera on this trip as it looks like being bright and sunny at least for a few days. So here are a few monochrome conversions from Dawlish. You definitely step back in time in the station and the train track runs right along the seafront.

Grey Heron

A very obliging heron in beautiful light kept me entertained for an hour. I am using the new Blogger layout tool and not quite mastered it yet so may be a few odd postings for a time.

Building the Olympic Dream?

We paid a return visit to the Olympic site and the streets around Hackney Wick. Building has continued and some folks, like the Docklands Light Railway driver, can't wait for things to start. Others like the man peering through the fence aren't so sure and others just continue to frequent the 'regenerated' streets.

Roman Road Market

We visited the Roman Road Market in London and then walked through into the Olympic City site. Here are some of the traders and buyers in the market. It was very contrasty light which made people photography difficult.

Markers for Spring 2012

I try to record the flowers out in my village in Cambridgeshire each year on the official first day of Spring - I am a day late this year but here are a selection for my yearly comparison. It has been unusually dry with very mild spells over the past weeks so lots of the spring flowers are out and beginning to go over.

Havergate Hares

Great location for Hares - shame about the weather. It started raining as we left Orford Quay and got heavier as the day progressed. The Hares were fairly obliging to start with and even a bit of chasing and mating but soon all they wanted to do was shelter from the rain so we did the same.

Wild Herons and Captive Owls in Wiltshire

These Herons come into feed at the Hawk Conservancy site in Wiltshire. I have been once before and the weather was exactly the same - thick cloud and cold. I would love to see them in good light as they come fairly close. The Great GreyOwl and Snowy Owl gave great flying displays.
