Dolphins and Shearwaters off the Majorca Coast.

A great trip today with Robinson's boats from Puerto Pollensa to see the Sunrise and watch Dolphins. More of the scenery, boat and subrise later but here my best Dolphin attempts. They weren't jumping clear of the water but a family of three  including a young one and a single dolphin entertained us for half an hour. What a priviledge!
There were also a lot of Shearwaters - this one a Cory's Shearwater I believe.

S'Albufera Natural Park, Majorca

The Nature Reserve of S'Albufera is a fantastic area for bird watching  In 1987 it was declared Special Protection Areas for Birds (ZEPA) and was included in the Ramsar Convention under the category of Wetlands of International Importance. I spent a rather wet day there but saw the majority of theor 'special' species and photographed most. Here are a selection of the species seen.
Starting with a pair of courting Night Herons - more pics of this to follow. Other species Avocet and Black-winged Stilts with chicks everywhere. Yellow Watail and Red-billed Teal, Little Ringed Plover and Kentish Plover, Purple Gallinule and Crested Coot, Little and Cattle Egret. Common Tern, Serin and Nightingale

Port d'Alcudia and North Coast of Bay, Majorca

On Monday afternoon we went on a boat tour of the northern area of Alcudia Bay where there are some fantastic rock formations. there were goats on the near vertical cliffs as well as large brown and white eagle which I missed photographing . The boat had a glass bottom so enjoyed watching the fish. The first image is a 12-image stitched panorama taken from the boat of the town

Majorca - Cala Sant Vincent and Porto Pollensa Beaches

We have visited two different beaches so far. First, images from Cala San Vincent - an ideallic village with 4 separate coves each with sandy beach. I borrowed Matt's GoPro for an underwater shot.
The second beach is at Peurto Pollensa on the opposite coast - miles of sandy beach and clear warm water to swim as far as you want.

Villa Bon Reco, Porto Pollensa

Front view of Villa for Sally and Brian - booked through Villa Plus. Lovely garden and pool and Villa quite roomy though a bit dark inside and usual problems with appliances but company good at responding to requests - WiFi now fixed and hopefully washing machine dealt with today. also lot of very noisy Cockerels starting around 4.30 am!! Worth it for the garden etc
