Hoar Frost, Mist and Trees

Sunday morning was magical in Toft with a heavy hoar frost and mist giving soft colours and lightness to the landscape. I walked across to Eversden encountering many Hares though they never allow close approach.

A few images from a walk across the meadows in Toft on Wednesday morning in bright sunshine after a heavy frost.

Local Walks

We have had some lovely sunny days this week though getting progressively colder. I took a walk  up to Hardwick Wood and was surprised to find quite a few toadstools still apparent. This evening a lovely sunset though Ted was impatient to move on.

Windy Walk on Royston Heath

I walked across Royston Heath, through the Beechwoods and back along the edge of the golf course this morning admiring the winter trees and wind-swept clouds. As with my hunt for flowers in bloom in Toft on January 1st, I found only a single dandelion and small patches of Groundsel though the Hazel catkins are in full flower

Favourite Walk Toft to Hardwick Wood and Caldecote Church

Some images from my favourite local walk - one I do at least once a week from Toft towards Hardwick then down to the Brook, up to Frog Hall, along to Hardwick wood, round to Caldecote Church and back to Toft. It changes so dramatically through the seasons (see Ann Miles Blog: Favourite Local Walk (pin-sharp.blogspot.com) for a September view)
