In Praise of Trees

I decided to try a set of five tree images with the one from the previous post as the central image. I am not sure whether they work together yet. I will only know this when prints have been made.

Time to Compose

I took advantage of a free evening tonight to process three images from recent trips using textures and composites ready for next week's CCC Aperture group meeting. I particularly like the three trees shot in the centre of London!

Cambridge Textures

I am continuing my theme of building materials and the structure they were used in. The first two work well with the images from bluewater centre http://pin-sharp.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/bluewater-shopping-centre.html. but not sure i have got five for a portfolio even with the War Cemetery ones http://pin-sharp.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/madingley-war-cemetery.html.
The autumn colours are just beginning to really glow. I hope we don't get a lot more strong winds that blow them off before we can appreciate the colours.

Madingley War Cemetery

I had never looked at the stone used to construct the Amereican War Cemetery until I visited today with David. With his interest in geology, we found some wonderful textures and objects in the Portland limestone. It invites use in montages of the views and structures at the War Cemetery. The general view was taken today and shows how easy it is to make autumn out of spring colours.

Texture Time

I was leaving a house today after doing a framing job in Cambridge and noticed these wonderful suckers from a Virginia Creeper that had been stripped off the wall. I then took a couple more textures - first a small fungus growing through a hoarding on East Road and a brick wall alongside the road that has been eaten into by traffic pollution.
