Sand Racing at Mablethorpe 13th November

Six CCC Members decided to go to the Sand Racing on Mablethorpe Beach on Sunday. It was a bright sunny day so plenty of light to play with. The challenge was to get good combinations of bikes, light in the eyes and a sense of movement. Individually achievable but getting all three eluded me in most shots. Here a few 'classic' shots that I liked (more 'pictorial' shots to follow)

Motorcycle Scrambling

I tried a variety of shutterspeeds and lens length at the local Motorcycle Scrambling yesterday. The first shot is two stitched images taken at 1/2000th; shots 2 to 4 are panned at 1/200th;  shot 5 panned at 1/100th (all manual exposures). The remainder of the shots are taken at 1/1600th. We left at the point the dust affected the autofocus and we were worried about the dust getting into cameras and lenses.

X-Fest 2013

Some images from X-Fest at Santapod yesterday. Not as extensive as last year but the weather conditions were great. Used small flash unit to lighten the faces etc

Bikes and Scooters at Santapod

XFest at Santapod today was an extravaganza of wheeled stunts from the microscooters through BMX bikes, motorbikes to jet powered racers. As I was collecting Phil on my way back from Birmingham, I only had my G12 compact - not the ideal camera for the task but eventually got the hang of predicting where the bike etc would be after the shutter lag.
