UV Fluorescence in Toft Churchyard

Having discovered that lichens fluoresced strongly in UV light, I decided to try some night shots at the church illuminating the gravestones with a UV torch. The exposure were 40 secs at f7.1 iso1250/2500 when the church security light were off. There is a street light a little way down the road giving some illumination to the scene. Artifical flowers fluoresce very strongly.

Late-Forming Mist

It was frosty and clear early this morning but as the temperature warmed a mist developed giving lovely soft landscapes in Toft. I liked the way the lichen 'pixie cups' all had their frozen droplet.

Hardwick Mosses and Fungi

When the canopy is bare, it is a great time to photograph the many fungi, lichens and mosses that flourish on the woodland floor. I was using a close up filter on a wide angle (23mm) lens to give background wherever possible

In the Wood with the Hosebaby Lens

I spent an hour in our local wood with my home-made close-focus shallow-depth-of-field lens (Hosebaby) taking multiple shots while moving myself forwards or backwards. The set of images were then focus stacked with Zerene stacker. Here are a selection of images that I liked of Hazel female flowers, umbel seedhead, oak apple, rose hip, oak leaves, lichens and teasel with ladybird and against the light with the interesting bokeh.
