A few images of toft's christmas lights using camera movement and defocusing to give some different effects - the subject and result in the first three pairs.

Toft Christmas Lights 1

With 12th night upon us tomorrow, I grabbed the opportunity to take a few images of the Christmas lights around our village this evening. A second set will be a bit more creative (i.e those out of focus ones or with motion blur!!)

Christmas Eve in Cambridge

Traditionally I visit Cambridge on Christmas Eve for last minute shopping but this year it was just a visit to the quieter areas. Sad to see previously bustling areas so empty but the beautiful light still made it a pleasant experience.

Post Lockdown Visit to Cambridge

I needed to visit the building society today and was worried how busy it might be but around town was very quiet, probably mostly because of the very dismal condition - snow, followed by rain. The stall holders have valiantly set up their stalls and the Christmas decorations are up but it did not look very festive. Only the Fitzbillies corner looked warm and welcoming. All the Colleges have large white marquees for Covid testing all the students before their return home for Xmas.

Spot of Red in Liverpool

What are the chances of a lady in red with white hair passing a festive white topped pillar box (which played Jingle Bells when you post a letter!)? The Telephone boxes are available as a retail outlet - coffee bar or the like!!

Season's Greetings from Phil and Ann

We are off  on Friday to spend a few days in London over Christmas - really pushing the boat out this year and staying in the Travelodge at Euston Station. We will no doubt visit a Christmas Market or two but looks like rain rather than snow forecast so nothing as atmospheric as Tallin taken 2 weeks ago.

All best wishes for the Festive Season and for 2018.

Tallinn 3. As Dusk Arrived on the First Day

Sunset is c. 15.30 in Tallinn  (sunrise c. 9am) so not much time in the afternoon before we got to my favourite time to photograph. The Christmas Market and the nearby streets were wonderful venues to take some shots plus a couple of church interiors (the vertical one is an 'over-the-head' panorama). Also couldn't resist a window shot of an incredible book/junk shop
