CRUFC beat Plymouth Albion 34-28

Cambridge held onto their lead through the match though at one stage only a point separated the teams. I am very out of practice for sports photography so was pleased to get any photos sharp! The second image is my favourite - reminds me of the Mix-up game we had as children where you could combine random head, bodies, legs etc.

Dorset 11 Lyme Regis

On the Tuesday of our trip, we visited Lyme Regis on a very hot bright day. I mainly concentrated on the people enjoying the location in the strong contrasty light. The artist was perfectly dressed for the location while the young provided entertainment leaping off the cob, canoeing, paddling etc. There was, of course, just sitting enjoying the view and sunshine or a gentle game of bowls.

Mallory Park

A few images from Mallory Park Historic Motocycle Racing. Unfortunately the meeting was cut short by an accident so I only shot from one position with no experimentation on shutterspeed, backgrounds or light direction.

Cambridge Exile versus Cottenham Renegades

CRUFC 3rd team beat Cottenham Renegades 26-10 in a very tough match played in cold rainy conditions. Here a set of action photographs in monochrome. which seemed to better represent the conditions!! There is a single colour shot at the end. All have been processed with Lightroom only making full use of  the new masking facilities eg select subject - a very powerful addition to the software.

Cambridge Half Marathon

I agreed to take images of some runners in the Cambridge Half Marathon representing the Sports Connections Foundation Charity so we found a good spot to watch the runners with the aim of identifying and photographing their 11 runners out of the 15000 runners. All we know was they were wearing red T-shirts with their charity logo. Well we managed to snap 7 of their runners but also had an enjoyable time watching the race unfold. Here are the first runners through our 'checkpoint' at 7+ miles. Jonathan Escalante-Phillips was the final winner in 1 hour and 6 mins and many of the runners whose numbers can be read in this top group finished within 1 hour 12 mins.

Sidecar Racing Cadwell Park

As well as scooter racing, yesterday classic Motobike meet at Cadwell Park included sidecars (racing along with three-wheelers such as Morgans). It was obviously a challenge to keep the third wheel on the ground when corning and various positions were adopted not always successfully!! Happily only a couple of occasions when the 'passenger' parted company with the bike and then no serious injuries.
