Frozen Woodland Floor

The overnight low temperatures and mist resulted in ice crystals in the mosses, leaves and even fungi.

After the Rain at Cambridge Botanic Gardens

The weather was just perfect for a trip to the Botanic Gardens yesterday with rain until we arrived and then bright clear sunshine shining through or onto wet autumnal poppies and leaves.

High Contrast at Cambridge Botanic Gardens

We set a few topics for our CCC trip to Cambridge Botanic Gardens - one was High Contrast Monochrome so I spent some time seeking out flowers and leaves in very contrasty lighting. However, I have decided I like them best in colour.

Cambridge Botanic Gardens

 A trip to the botanic Gardens this morning. Sunny intervals brought the new tree leaves to life (upper and under views) and made interesting shots in the steamy tropical house.

Hanningfield Reservoir

The rain stopped yesterday morning and so I visited Hanningfield Reservoir Nature Reservoir. The Nature Reserve is an ancient woodland with Hornbeams, Beech, Oak and Ferns. Around the centre are Horse chestnut and Sycamores,  all in fresh green leaf. One area is carpeted in Buebells
