Botanic Gardens Shallow Depth of Field

The Jade vine is in full flower at the moment and has such large hanging groups of flowers that the corridor is closed to prevent damage to the plant. I was using an Olympus legacy lens from my film days - most are taken at F1.8, all manually focused. My favourite is the Pitcher plant - here the lens was still missed up giving a real rain forest feel to the image.

Cambridge Botanic Gardens Reopen

Cambridge University Botanic Gardens opened this week for Friends of the Gardens and will open next week to the general public. It was great to take Sadie and Meredith with their cameras for a visit there on Wednesday afternoon. While there Sadie took readings for her Home-School Science project on Heart Beat, Exercise and Recovery. Meredith just enjoyed running!

Cambridge Botanic Gardens - Glasshouse Windows

The second topic that I tackled on Sunday was the condensation and algae etc on the windows in the hothouses plus glimspes of what is beyond. Such a variety of colours and shapes it was difficult to know where to stop but here are a few.
