Snowdrop Display at Anglesey Abbey (Cambridgeshire)

The snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey are certainly behind last year but probably more 'normal' with some out in the sheltered spots but still to open in the exposed areas. Lovely misty conditions yesterday gave colourings that display the gardens so well for me. More details of the snowdrop festival at this link for Anglesey Abbey

Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights 2. Creative

A second set of images from Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights using combinations of in-camera multiple images, lens zooming and movement of camera during long exposures. I like the unpredictability of the results: uploading to the computer to view larger and  when adjusted is a bit like getting the slides back in the 'old days'.

Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights 1. Static Shots

I visited the Winter Lights Display at Anglesey Abbey last night along with members of Cambridge CC and Toft Photogroup. Clear night allowed stars to feature in some of the images. Here are the traditional shots from the evening i.e.keeping the camera as still as possible given the long exposures and large numbers of people!! I particularly likes the use of ultraviolet light to show off the large Allium seedheads. A batch of creative shots to follow.

Spring Morning at Anglesey Abbey

Warm sunny day for a morning visit to Anglesey Abbey. Lots of Brimstone and Comma butterflies on the wing along with ladybirds and various flies and bees.

Windy Skies and Early Snowdrops

Yesterday was very windy all over the country due to Gertrude - in Cambridgeshire the rain cleared in the afternoon so went out with big stopper filter to take some long exposures - one and three are 30 second exposure while two is one second.
Last week, we visited Anglesey Abbey where the snowdrops were in full bloom.
