Cambridge Mosque Colour and Shapes

 Happy couple of hours in Cambridge Mosque using multiple exposure in the Fuji XV100 compact camera to combine colour and shapes.

Mosses and Lichens at Paxton

The wetter wooded areas of Paxton Pits rival Wistman's wood in Devon for the variety and amount of lichens and mosses attached to the trees. The first image is a single shot but many of the others are focus-stacked landscapes to give maximum depth of field. I enjoyed the variety of greens and shapes of fallen trees etc

Ely Cathedral Sunlit Interiors

Yesterday a party of photographers met at Ely Cathedral to explore the interior architecture. It was a clear sunny day so plenty of light bouncing around inside to show off the vibrant colours of stone, tile, painted wood and glass that comprise this 'Ship of the Fens'. Lots of techniques in evidence from putting camera on the floor to capture the  ceiling,  HDR (high dynamic range to control the contrasty light) and photographing projections of the window colours onto the floors. There were even a couple of Tilt/Shift lenses to help cope with the very high ceilings without distortion of the verticals.

Light Painting

Last night, Peter Wood treated us to an evening of his light painting displays. We were inside in a large Hall - not ideal as the light tended to bounce off door frames etc in the background but the polished floor made a great reflective surface to add an extra element without having to find a safe area of shallow water! I start with a Kingfisher as I had seen this on his FlikR site and definitely my favourite (www.flikr.com/photos/hugobia)

Technicolour Sunrise in Toft

With clear skies and minus 4 degrees, yesterday's sunrise was spectacular - bright yellow/orange skies contrasting with the heavily frosted foliage. I decided a walk across the Golf Course might give some atmospheric shots but got distracted en route to the Church Drift by the colours and light patterns in the village and some frosted fungi, berries and daisies!
