After the Sunset, Haukland Beach, Lofoten Islands

A selection of images after the sunset on the beach, the first two with the Fuji-XT and 10-24mm (good choice Phil), then two at 10 secs followed by variety of shutter speeds from 1.6 to 2.5 secs

Haukland Beach Lofoten Islands Norway

The flight from Bodo to Leknes was very bumpy going through large cumulus clouds but, by the time we had been picked up from the airport, the rain had gone and the sky cleared. We travelled a short way to Haukland Beach and were treated to a beautiful sunset. There were still large blocks of ice on the river banks and beach, which made great lead-in features for the compositions.

Oslo Opera House and Harbour

We got the train into Oslo on Monday evening to shoot the final light of the day in the harbour.Very impressive building and waterfront though there are a lot of building works going on at the moment.

Day One in Norway

We have made it to Oslo where we are staying overnight at this hotel before the flight to the Lofoten Islands for 8 days tomorrow. There has been heavy snowfall recently and very cold conditions resulting in some beautiful frosted trees, captured during a short walk just as the sun went down.

Frosty Cambridge

It was a crisp frosty morning yesterday - Cambridge looked at its best with soft lighting and frosted grass.

Exhibition at Addenbrooke's Hospital

I have been putting up an Exhibition of Images  in The Gallery at Addenbrooke's (located in the corridor between the Concourse and the Rosie Wards). They will be displayed until the 12th March, hopefully raising some money for the Trust.

A Few More Center Parc Birds

This Sparrowhawk stayed on a branch in a dark area a long way away for about 10 minutes; it was great to have more than the usual fleeting view. Plenty of activity on the northern lake with three Great Crested Grebes often very close, plus Coots and Mallards (also Tufted , Pochard and Goosander). Sad to see very few Chaffinches and those that were there had diseased legs with typical squatting position. Other birds, especially the Robin, for 4-year old Sadie who enjoyed time in the hide during their visit.
